While you're at it: End the War on Drugs, Save Detroit as a whole, support serious docs and be the change you want to see come true. Detroit reflects every town and every human being but there certainly ain't no town like motown to show the way to better things, remember that. Make sure positivity is always in the heart and mind. Things happen for a reason and the light is coming. Thanks DetroitBazaar! You are appreciated.

I disagree with you just because the film focuses on people running bars and the auto industry from an outsider's perspective doesn't mean it's some kind of chop job it ain't no searching for sugarman (which you should see) but it ain't no lemonade either so go see it and tell your friends how you feel about the Raven Lounge and the folks who tried to tell the truth

Blame the red tape, not your own wonderful ideas and make sure to show up to say something significant at council meetings and in the public square:

1990 and nothing has changed:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvTvLk2zySw

Some of us have been warning about, supporting, and explaining Detroit for decades.
Carl, make sure that you don't end up in the "cult of Detroit" that will lead you astray from real family, issues, and Detroit friends. That kind of thinking and emotion will corrupt the very way you are trying to travel through this short journey of valuable life just like Riddle, Kwame, Coleman, Monica, and those before and after have DONE and are now trying to excuse or explain away. People seem to want to be "White Boy Rick" in all of this. The international media has recognized and seized upon this whole thing and way of thinking as a cult for sure and capitalized (made serious money)on it and the trends that are born out of it all. Maybe it is time to capitalize on real topics? Making money isn't wrong (ask Dan Gilbert) and even Mike "Gimme your money" Ilitch "so I can give you parking lots and promise you more mindless hockey." Mechanized robotic coffee shops are trendy downtown near renaissance zones where nobody pays taxes of significance. Meanwhile, the neighborhoods are a living hell and no "Blue Zone" or "Green Zone" is going to fix it. Regardless. Think, research, and learn for yourself. Why not actually visit or study the city and make something happen that will be true to the mission statement over there to the right of this noise?? Belle Isle ain't nothing like 6 mile style and six mile style ain't nothing compared to Belle Isle Have a few meaningful hours that would otherwise be spent watching commercials? Read this:

"Detroit Future City"
http://detroitworksproject.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/The-DFC-Plan.pdf

It's a blueprint for ceding control of Detroit to other entities and bankruptcy and the devaluation of any currency Detroit had left while leaving lagoons and weeds for the war on drugs and property to prosper

I love how this site just keeps existing. Most folks, and especially, the PO' (Like his teacher said in "Hive School") folks, would have disappeared by now if not for the love of the heart and caring human beings working since the late 80's and before. Not in Detroit: You out of towners No body needs to watch Morning J0e to understand where this city has been and where it will be (you ignorant
progressives). Sometimes it is time to rhyme slow and sometimes it is time to rhyme quick on your local propaganda box in whatever form it takes!

Writing a factual story "about one's hometown can be a heartwarming experience-and heartbreaking too.

It's heartwarming because one is forced to look deeply into a history that, it turns out, had been only dimly perceived...

It's heartbreaking because, despite" "a wealth of material, the limitation of space forces one barely to scratch the surface, and there IS the realization of omissions that are troublesome to accept..." -'Yesterday's Detroit'

Bankruptcy and Detroit go together because it is Detroit that leads the nation. Whatever the future, yesterday must be completely accepted. Tomorrow is another day. Today, we can appreciate who and what we love most.

DetroitBazaar wants to bring the people of Detroit together to build a stronger community in which we can thrive once again! Looking back and remembering that Detroit was once a city full of culture and pride, we long to relive that point in history. Volunteering to flight blight, getting involved in the Detroit music and entertainment scene including recording, documentary films and photography, walking the streets and getting to know locals and business owners, putting on benefits, as well as through donations, charity, volunteer work and the help of others who feel the same, we believe that Detroit can be revitalized and put back on the map as a respectful city that people around the world can come to visit and enjoy all of what it has to offer.
