Time Keeps On Slipping...

into the future? Or just past us?
DetroitBazaar may just be a remnant of what it once was, but perhaps there is a ray of light and hope for a better tomorrow.
Some promises are hard to keep, but I'd like to think we can raise this from the dead, just like we will raise Detroit from the ashes!

Detroit is full of heart. Which brings us to this...

Time To Wake Up Michigan!

The smoking ban debate has reached the Michigan State House once again. It's time for the Neanderthals to wake up and make a wise choice for the people of Michigan and stand up for our health and well-being. I'm tired of hearing how a smoking ban would hurt the economy and how bars and restaurants would lose business. With the way the economy stands as it is, and with the upcoming raise in taxes on cigarettes, who can afford to smoke anyway?

Punk Before Punk

A rare discovery leads to what may be known as the originators of "punk rock", and what better news than finding out it was born here in Detroit Rock City! Which obviously makes a lot of sense. (Although we all know that the MC5 and Iggy & the Stooges were the true originals)

Don't Believe The Hype (on Sarah Palin)

I can't say I'm a big fan of either of the two "main" candidates for the next President of the US, but the thought of Sarah Palin being our next Vice President sure is a scary thought! And in this day and age of media control and fear of speaking the truth, it's always good to see people like Kieth Olbermann tell it like it is.

Say Yes To (Smoke Free) Michigan!

Michigan State Senate passed a measure today, 25-12, to ban smoking in public places including bars and restaurants. After living in California for 4 years, and thoroughly enjoying the fact that I could walk into any bar or restaurant without the smell of second hand death creeping into my lungs, I actually dreaded moving back to the state I call home since Michigan would not step up and join other states in this ongoing health concern. Although it may still only be in the early phase, atleast it's a step in the right direction for the State of Michigan to join the likes of California and New York.
