DetroitBazaar wants to bring the people of Detroit together to build a stronger community in which we can thrive once again! Looking back and remembering that Detroit was once a city full of culture and pride, we long to relive that point in history. Volunteering to flight blight, getting involved in the Detroit music and entertainment scene including recording, documentary films and photography, walking the streets and getting to know locals and business owners, putting on benefits, as well as through donations, charity, volunteer work and the help of others who feel the same, we believe that Detroit can be revitalized and put back on the map as a respectful city that people around the world can come to visit and enjoy all of what it has to offer.

Wow...thanks for sharing this link! I almost shed a tear looking through the pictures and knowing that there is so much beauty in Detroit, yet no one, especially Mike Ilitch seems to care about rebuilding some of those old buildings(many of which he owns). Thank you DetroitBazaar for taking the time to share your opinions and caring about the future of our dear Detroit! Continue on with what you have started and good luck to you and the people of Detroit!
You bet, if you want to get involved in any way, whether it's support or just planting a tree; or if you know of a unique Detroit area band or project, feel free to email us at detroitbazaar@yahoo.com.
Most of the time it just takes a few dedicated folks to get things done. These few folks have ten times the power of Ilitch and his slum mentality.
I'm sorry to say that, but after about 1990 the Ilitches have done nothing but bring in Johnny Rockets and turned once glorious buildings into parking lots and let the rest of the buildings crumble. I used to have a sweet spot in my heart for a fellow like him and what he and the city did to revitalize an area of the city. I look north now and I look west and east. We can and will bring life into the areas that are not part of his "empire".
Peace to you friend of Detroit
