The Dally in The Alley- Fun and Rebuilding
From North Cass Community Union's "Dally in the Alley*" website:
"What began as an inner city art fair in 1977 evolved into a performing arts festival when it was moved to its present alley and renamed in 1982, to "DALLY IN THE ALLEY", after the title of a medieval drinking song. Great musical talent, good beer, and a remarkable string of fabulous September weather has indelibly marked the alley at Second and Forest in Detroit's Cass Corridor as the site of the best music festival in the Midwest."
The North Cass Community Union has a stake in Detroit and is using community to help bring a grand historic neighborhood back, cobblestone by cobblestone!

I think the city and the Ilitch family should take some hints from the folks who present "The Dally in the Alley". There are other areas of the city to rebuild too, with enough momentum we can surround their little island with joy, dancing, and pride.

Be real. Something this city of Detroit as a people decided to not do went nutz but not too much. When you clean an alley or property full of needles used to inject heroin, hate, crack... and give the community AIDS or HEP A, B, or C, contact us. Angelina Jokely will not satisfy or make you "content".
